How to use the child-friendly article summarizer

What is Petit Prince?

Petit Prince is a child-friendly article summarizer that takes complex articles from the web and transforms them into easy-to-understand summaries for children of different age groups.

Named after the beloved children's book "The Little Prince," this tool aims to make knowledge accessible to young minds, fostering curiosity and learning.

Why Use Petit Prince?

  • Make complex topics accessible to children
  • Help children understand current events and educational content
  • Support parents and educators in explaining difficult concepts
  • Encourage reading and learning in children of all ages
  • Create age-appropriate content from adult-oriented articles

How to Use Petit Prince

  1. Enter an Article URL

Paste the URL of any article you want to summarize in the input field.

  2. Select an Age Range

Choose the appropriate age range for your child:

    • 5-8 years: Very simple language with basic vocabulary
    • 9-12 years: Simple language with intermediate vocabulary
    • 13-16 years: Moderate language with advanced vocabulary
  3. Click "Summarize for Kids!"

The app will process the article and generate a child-friendly summary.

  4. View the Summary

Read the generated summary that's tailored to the selected age range.

  5. Access the Kid-Friendly Blog

Click "Go to Kidify Blog Page" to view a beautifully formatted blog version of the summary that includes images from the original article.

How It Works

1. Article Extraction

When you submit a URL, Petit Prince fetches the article content and extracts relevant images.

2. AI Summarization

The content is processed by an advanced AI model (Llama 4) that summarizes the article using language appropriate for the selected age range.

3. Blog Generation

The summary is then used to create a visually appealing blog page with images from the original article, designed specifically for children.

4. Storage

The generated blog is saved in a database so you can access it later using the same link.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use articles from reputable sources with clear, well-structured content
  • Articles with images will result in more visually engaging blog pages
  • Very technical or specialized content may be simplified significantly
  • News articles, educational content, and science articles work particularly well
  • For very young children (5-8), simpler articles will yield better results
